The Vibro-Acoustics Heavy Duty Silencer Selection and Pricing software is the industry leading Industrial Fan Noise Control tool!  HDSIL is a Windows based package, complete with flexible fan system selection parameters, automatic drawing generator, easy to use system summary reports, standardized on-line ordering services, and backed-up by an extensive and reliable aero-acoustical database.

 Many User Friendly Features Available!

·                   User Friendly Interface

    bullet For new fan silencer selections, 5 input modules are opened in succession.
    bullet With input information relating to the industrial project, fan, acoustical environment, silencer, and added accessories, HDSIL guides the user through a complete silencer selection.

 ·                   File Management

    bullet The FILE menu on the main screen gives the option to directly open a saved silencer selection, start a new selection, save a selection or exit the program. 
    bullet All selection files are saved as data files with the .DAT extension.

 

·                   Fan Information

    bullet HDSIL will prompt the user for the fan characteristics, which include: model name, flow rate, fan type, operating air density, a description of the acoustical environment, and either rated sound power levels (Lw) or a known sound pressure levels (Lp) at a criterion position.

 

 ·                   Entering Silencer Information

    bullet MANY silencer types are available for selection, engineered for both axial and centrifugal fan systems.
    bullet HDSIL will prompt the user for the maximum allowable pressure drop and desired noise criteria (dBA), using any 5 critical observer positions noted below:

o                 Various silencer accessories are available for selection, which include:

§            special external paint

§            rain hoods (6 models to choose from)

§            inlet filter boxes (3 filter capacities in either vertical or horizontal orientations)

§            birdscreen protection

§            flow and static pressure probes

§            access door

§            drainage hole(s)

Units

bullet All user input  and calculations may be applied in either IMPERIAL or METRIC units (with  ‘Soft’ conversions).

     On-Line Ordering

    bullet Once an appropriate silencer selection has been made, it can be added to an ORDER FORM template, along with other selections on a project. 
    bullet The Order Form details: Customer and Shipping Information, Silencer Information, and Accessory Information
    bullet User options allow for items to be added / removed from the Order directly
    bullet Output options include:

HDSIL Utilities

Minimum System Requirements

·        Hardware 

            The following minimum computer hardware is required to run HDSIL:

o        IBM PC or compatible (Pentium)

o        16MB RAM (32MB recommended)

o        CD ROM Drive

o  160 MB of hard-drive space available

·        Operating System

            HDSIL will run on any of the following Windowsä platforms:

o        Windowsä 98, NT4, 2000, XP

·        Requirements To Run Special Features

            The following software installations are required on the local PC running HDSIL:

o           Email – must be set-up and active for HDSIL’s Email generation

o           Microsoft WORDä  and EXCELä  for Email attachments, data sheets, and submittal drawings

o           AutoCADä V2000 (or later) for generation of scaled CAD drawings

o           Adobe Acrobatä  4.0 (or later) for User Guide and technical reference files

  Installation Instructions

To install HDSIL on your system:

 1.       Make sure Windows is running.  All programs should be closed before installing the software.

2.       Insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive.

3.       HDSIL has an auto-load procedure, which will automatically begin the installation procedure.  If the setup screen does not appear after inserting the CD, manually start the setup program by running the D:\SETUP.EXE file.

4.       InstallShieldtm will begin the installation process.  Follow the installation directions as required.

5.   HDSIL will then begin the installation.  If the program installed correctly, the InstallShield program will close.  An icon on will appear on your desktop

 

        If the installation was not completed successfully, call 1-800-565-8401 or email:

         hdsil@vibro-acoustics.com. 

6.       With a successful completion, a new program will be created.  Click the HDSIL icon to start the program.

     Simplified Software Registration

  

Once you have installed HDSIL on your system, you will be required to register your copy within 30 days. This may be easily completed using HDSIL’s automatic registration form.
