Q1.    What is V-A Select?

A1.    Vibro-Acoustics^® has continously developed V-A Select for use by HVAC design engineers and acoustical consultants. V-A Select's main purpose is to allow user-friendly acoustical analysis of HVAC duct systems and cost effective silencer selections to meet project requirements. Fan/duct system acoustical analysis is based on a combination of ASHRAE guidelines and Vibro-Acoustics^'® 40⁺ years in HVAC noise control. The required insertion loss and maximum allowable pressure drop determine optimal silencer selections; silencers can then be sent to an Engineering Schedule with performance and system data. V-A Select Release 4.0 is designed to work with all Windows (95/98/NT/ME/2000)  platforms.

Q2.    Do I need to know acoustics to use V-A Select?

A2.    To use V-A Select effectively, you should be familiar with HVAC design, acoustics and the ASHRAE 2.6 guidelines on HVAC acoustics.

Q3.    What do I do if I am uncomfortable with performing an acoustical analysis, selecting silencers on my own, or simply don't have the time?
